Joseph E. Boatwright is a consumer justice attorney who has invested twenty-two years developing effective skills in civil trial practice.  Joe earned his law degree from The University of Florida College of Law and joined the Florida Bar in 1985.

In 1999, Joe received the highest level of recognition awarded by the Florida Bar when he became board certified in the specialty of civil trial law.  He uses this expertise to provide effective legal advocacy to people who are injured through the wrongful acts of another person. Board Certification recognizes an attorney's specific knowledge, skill and proficiency in areas of law, professionalism, and ethics.

As of May 2007, there are 72,000 attorneys licensed to practice law in the state of Florida . Less than 2 percent of those attorneys have achieved certification by the Florida Bar as experts in civil trial law.

Joe was awarded membership into The Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an eminent group of trial lawyers in the United Sates. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won for their client, million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. Less than 1 percent of the United States lawyers are members. The quality of the membership is impressive and includes select   trial lawyers from around the country. Mr. Boatwright has demonstrated, in an objective and tangible manner, his ability to accomplish superior results in complex cases .

In addition, Mr. Boatwright is recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer. To determine the designations, an independent research company surveys 44,000 lawyers across the state of Florida . As well as his stellar legal achievements, Mr. Boatwright has been a community leader for twenty years in Central Florida. Since 1999, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Emmaus Counseling Center in Altamonte Springs, metro Orlando . As a member of the Orange County Bar Association, Joe has provided pro bono work since 1990 through their legal aid society.

In addition, Joe and his wife Debi volunteer as a mentor couple for the marriage preparation class sponsored by Northland Community Church .  He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Central Florida Chapter of the Christian Legal Society.

When not in the courtroom or volunteering in the community, you will probably find Joe and his wife, Debi, out with friends boating, fishing or scuba diving. Their son Joshua is married and works in the media in Asheville, North Carolina .
